About Me

“I have always been interested in art and painting, ever since I was a child.

Nature and animals are my favourite subjects to paint, especially pets and companion animals. Having owned dogs, cats, horses, chickens and even a cow, I know how important they are to us and how much they feel like family. Painting a beloved pet is so much more intimate and personal than simply hanging up a photo - the effort and time put into painting each hair and whisker means that the final work almost feels alive. In a world that is becoming increasingly digital and artificial, a physical painting brings with it a sense of substance and value, of irreplaceability.

My style is realistic, but I also love loosening up and adding a more painterly quality to my work. I am a great admirer of the painters belonging to the Romantic and Realism movements of the 18th and 19th centuries, such as Edwin Landseer, Carl Reichert and Charles Burton Barber for their beautiful depictions of pets and animals, and Mønsted, Shishkin and Kruseman for their landscapes.

My preferred mediums are acrylics and soft pastels. I use high quality, professional grade, lightfast and archival materials. My goal is to produce high quality artwork for my clients that can be enjoyed for generations.”
